A NEWRY civil engineering contractor has won a slice of a £30m contract for a major sewer project in south east England.

Terra Solutions will work on Southern Water’s Victorian sewer rehabilitation project in Thanet, Kent — a major infrastructure project valued at over £30m.

Terra Solutions Limited, which has been trading since 2008, has entered into a new joint venture, TPMD, to carry out the work.

The sewerage upgrade will deliver phase two of Southern Water’s project to repair and reline the century-old network.

Terra Solutions is supported by Ulster Bank but it is also receiving backing from the bank’s asset finance arm Lombard for the development of specialised lining equipment for the contract. Terra boss Barry Mcallister said it was investing heavily in its sewer rehabilitation lining division.
