Ittraining schemeis launched
NINE companies have teamed up to address an IT skills shortage in their area through the launch of a higher level apprenticeship.
The firms in Mid-ulster, the north west and north Antrim hope that the earn as you learn Career Encode apprenticeship will increase the pool of IT professionals.
Working with Northern Regional College, the nine companies will offer jobs to school leavers and career changers, enabling them to get an internationally recognised foundation degree from Ulster University.
The firms are Specialist Joinery Group and FP Mccann in Maghera, Bloc Blinds in Magherafelt, CDE Global and Mallon Technology in Cookstown, Kilrea-based Acorn IT Solutions, Spatialest in Coleraine, Randox in Crumlin and SDC Trailers in Toomebridge. It’s thought to be the first time firms have teamed up to launch an apprenticeship.
