JOHN Mul­hol­land Mo­tors last week un­veiled Skoda’s new Ko­diaq SUV at a spe­cial VIP event in their Ran­dal­stown show­room.

Cus­tomers lined up to take an ex­clu­sive peek at a seven-seat ver­sion of the car fresh from the fac­tory.

They were told how the car had re­cently scooped the award for Best Large SUV at the 2017 What Car of the Year Awards.

Speak­ing at the event, com­pany dealer prin­ci­pal John Mul­hol­land said: “The new Skoda Ko­diaq is a real game changer for us and the brand.

“I fully an­tic­i­pate that all our early build slots will be snapped up within a mat­ter of days and we will see ex­tended lead times for new or­ders.

“The mo­tor­ing press are ab­so­lutely rav­ing about the build qual­ity and drive­abil­ity of this new ve­hi­cle which is al­ready put­ting the fear up many of its more ex­pen­sive ri­vals.”

Launch trim lev­els S, SE, SE L (the seven-seater) and Edi­tion are ex­pected to be com­ple­mented with Sport­line and Scout mod­els later this year.

All en­gines fea­ture Stop-start sys­tem, brake en­ergy re­cov­ery and a pow­er­ful thermo-man­age­ment sys­tem that con­trib­utes to low con­sump­tion, he said.

The Ko­diaq’s of­fi­cial show­room launch is next month but the car is avail­able to pre-or­der now.

John Mul­hol­land is the long­est-es­tab­lished Skoda dealer in North­ern Ire­land, sup­ply­ing ve­hi­cles since 1999.

Over 70 peo­ple are em­ployed at the com­pany’s two lo­ca­tions: Ran­dal­stown (Skoda, Hyundai and Ford) and Camp­sie (Skoda and Hyundai).
