ISUZU’S mighty D-max pick-up has collected two new coveted trophies, being voted “Most Reliable Pick-up” at the 2018 Professional Pick-up and 4x4 awards, and “Best Workhorse Pick-up” by Trade and Van Driver at the important annual Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham. These are hugely significant recognition as they are voted for by actual owners and business users, and highly prized by vehicle manufacturers as they undeniably reflect customer satisfaction (or lack of ) in their chosen vehicle.

“We’re delighted to get such a massive double thumbs-up”, said William Brown, Isuzu UK Managing Director. “We listen hard to our customers and are constantly striving to improve our offering. In response to feedback from Northern Ireland owners we increased our warranty last year to include 5 years European Roadside Assist and Recovery. The D-max is immensely reliable and well proven, however extending breakdown cover provides enhanced peace of mind for users here engaged in regular cross border journeys – even simply running out of fuel you’re now never on your own in a D-max.”

“The D-max is the long established class-leading pick-up with 3.5 tonnes towing and number 1 choice of UK and Northern Ireland farmers. Owners consistently impressed upon me the importance of trailer use around the clock – so we now fit full size spare wheels as standard across the D-max range. Every model has Hillstart Assist and Descent Control as standard to further improve safety for trailer users,” continued Brown. “D-max is firmly established in Northern Ireland and we have six dealers here providing great service, expertise and knowledge. Isuzu only build commercial vehicles, every D-max is built to do as hard a day’s work as our Northern Ireland customers. The full range is 70mph compliant and the new generation engines are so well engineered and efficient they meet Euro 6 with no Adblu required. Those are significant benefits a lot of our competitors cannot match, many alternative pick-ups are restricted to 50mph with the additional cost, mess and irritations of Adblu.”

The “Most Reliable Pick-up” and “Best Workhorse” awards join the 2018 ‘ What Van’ “Pick-Up of the Year” award in Brown’s trophy cabinet sitting alongside the “Best MPG” trophy won in last year’s Fuel Economy Marathon, further testament to the merits of the 1.9 turbo diesel power unit. “When we moved from the 2.5TD to the 1.9 many questioned our progress, sales in the UK and Northern Ireland continue to boom and customers love the new Isuzu powerplant – it’s lighter, smoother, more powerful, cleaner and more economical than its predecessor. Matched to new 6-speed automatic or manual transmissions it’s easily a better driving vehicle too. This year we’ve already added several new major fleet users to our customer base in Northern Ireland – the fuel efficiency, outstanding residual values, product reliability and value for money were all deal clinchers. Don’t take my word for it – talk to D-max owners, and visit your local dealer to try it for yourself!”
