Founded in 1975, the SHS Group op­er­ates in the fast-mov­ing con­sumer goods (FMCG) sec­tor. In 2017, the SHS Group had a turnover of over £545m and prof­its be­fore tax of £24.5m driven by in­no­va­tion, new busi­ness, brand in­vest­ment and ac­qui­si­tions. From its Belfast head­quar­ters, the group’s com­mer­cial di­vi­sions are sup­ported by cen­tres of ex­cel­lence in­clud­ing in­for­ma­tion sys­tems, HR, fi­nance and pro­cure­ment. The com­pany owns brands such as WKD, Shloer, Bot­tle­green, Mer­ry­down Cider, Merid­ian nut but­ters, Rocks squash drinks, Zip fire­lighters and Maguire & Pater­son matches. It also dis­trib­utes a port­fo­lio of well-known brands in­clud­ing Jor­dans, Ryvita, Pot Noo­dle, Fin­ish, Mars Drinks and Col­gate. It also sup­plies own la­bel herbs and spices, man­u­fac­tur­ing a range of Cru­cials Sauces and pri­vate la­bel condi­ments and sauces. In 2018, it bought a ma­jor­ity share­hold­ing in the 3V Group, own­ers of the Merid­ian and Rocks brands. Merid­ian is the top brand of nut but­ter across the UK and Ire­land, while Rocks is the lead­ing brand of or­ganic squashes in the UK.
