Castlewellan For­est Park

You will find plenty to do to­gether at Castlewellan For­est Park. Built around a beau­ti­ful lake, the park fea­tures an out­stand­ing col­lec­tion of trees and shrubs in the Na­tional Ar­bore­tum, a num­ber of scenic walk­ing trails, 27km of moun­tain bike trails, an on­site multi-ac­tiv­ity cen­tre, a hedge maze and an eques­trian cen­tre.

Silent Val­ley

The Silent Val­ley reser­voir (left) in the Mournes is a stun­ning, man-made lake of water ringed by moun­tains, and fa­mous lo­cally for the sense of peace it ex­udes. Within the grounds of the reser­voir, there are three walk­ing routes, which en­able vis­i­tors to en­joy the sights and unique at­mos­phere of the val­ley. Fin­ish your visit with a walk around the in­ter­pre­tive cen­tre and a warm­ing cof­fee.
