Cliftonville football fan fined £200 for verbal abuse
A CLIFTONVILLE Football Club supporter who is alleged to have shouted at a woman in her 60s at Coleraine train station and was aggressive towards police has been fined £200.
The incident took place on April 7 this year when the north Belfast side were playing away to Coleraine.
Coleraine Magistrates Court yesterday heard that Dominic Oliver McDonald (42), of Fairyknowe Park, Newtownabbey, had been asked to leave a Coleraine bar because he was using “abusive” language.
Defence barrister Chris Sherrard said the defendant did not accept all the facts, but that he did acknowledge he was verbally abusive to police.
Mr Sherrard said the defendant had some alcohol taken in Coleraine and wished to apologise.
District Judge Barney McElholm fined McDonald £200.
