Resolving the Irish Language Act issue
AS an Irish speaker and academic linguist (retired), I have found the controversy around the Irish Language Act painfully depressing.
I was, however, encouraged by Professor Brian Walker’s thoughtful article (Comment, May 9) on the need to find a solution to the Acht na Gaeilge impasse and get the Assembly up and running again.
It is through such reasoned and reasonable reflection that a way forward must be found.
