Theresa May: Brexit deal must ‘protect the Union’

-

Debbie McKittrick: They should have thought of that one before the referendum. They asked a black-and-white question on a rainbow of issues, then fed people a pack of blatant lies to help their cause. I, personally, don’t trust the UK Government as far as I could throw them. Would feel safer with some European influence. Industry and businesses are already struggling to recruit. Not the best of moves to protect the Union. Philip Finnegan: Don’t worry. The DUP will set you on the right path.

David Craig: Do away with wishy-washy benefits system and get British people working for the UK — not the beggars of Europe.

Brian Trainor: Easy solution for the border problem: unification of Ireland.

Kevin Carton: If you could convince the majority of people in Northern Ireland of that, yes.

Frank Skillen: Wise up, Brian, and come back to the real world, instead of the fantasy one nationalists live in.

Daniel Ross: It’s simply swapping the flag some day.

Mick Mac Cool: Frank Skillen, you’re living in fantasy land if you don’t think there is going to be a united Ireland within 10

years or less.

Sandra Simpson: Time the Republic of Ireland joined the UK and told Brussels where to go. They will ruin your country.

Andrew Alexander Bowden: I know: it makes sense. Brexit is so, so mistaken and the DUP supported it. Nobody was talking about a united Ireland until the Brexit vote. If it wasn’t so sad, it would be hilarious that the most pro-Union party in Northern Ireland has brought the prospect of a united Ireland so much closer.

Anthony Boggiano: Sandra Simpson, I think you’re whistling in a gale with that one.

Mick Mac Cool: Sandra Simpson, you mean the way they’ve been “ruining” Britain for over 40 years?

Frank Skillen: Dream on, Mick. Something you’re well adept at.
