Former Aston Villa star Jlloyd Samuel killed in horror car crash

Collision: Jlloyd Samuel TRIBUTES have been paid to former Aston Villa and Bolton footballer Jlloyd Samuel.

The 37-year-old died in a car crash in Cheshire yesterday.

Samuel, a defender, made 199 appearances for Villa after signing with the club in 1998, and played 83 times for Bolton between 2007 and 2011.

Reports said he had “collided with an oncoming vehicle”.

Aston Villa said: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of our former player Jlloyd Samuel at the age of just 37 in a car accident.”

Cheshire Police said they were called to a serious collision involving a van and a Range Rover in High Legh, Cheshire, at 7.55am.
