NI lottery would do more for local people

Belfast Telegraph - - LETTERS -

IT was disappointing to read (News, May 8) about the funding crisis with the Belfast Marathon.

We have also had issues surrounding the launch of the air ambulance service and with the arts.

It would be interesting to know how much funding (percentage-wise) from the UK National Lottery finds its way back to Northern Ireland.

Surely, though, the answer to guarantee funding coming to Northern Ireland to fund these sort of events is for Northern Ireland to create its own national lottery?

Please note that letters should be short and to the point. Letters will be edited as deemed necessary and should be authenticated with a full name and postal address, not necessarily for publication. A daytime telephone number would also be useful.
