Have-a-go heroes foil burglary

TWO men were arrested after neighbours disturbed suspected burglars at a house in Co Tyrone.

One was found by a police dog as he attempted to hide.

The break-in occurred at St Mary’s Road in Omagh on Saturday evening.

At around 5.30pm it was reported that neighbours had disturbed three males after they had been observed entering a house.

One man was detained a short distance away by local people and arrested by police.

The second man was arrested a short time later after he had been found hiding by the police dog.

The two suspects are aged 23 and 36.

A silver Lexus car, VRM TEZ 8777, used by the suspects was also seized.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with any informatio­n on the incident or who observed the silver Lexus car recently to contact them on 101, quoting reference 775 12/01/19.
