Cliona’s routine wows judges on RTE’s Dancing With The Stars
ONE of Northern Ireland’s most talented young singers topped last night’s leaderboard on RTE’s Dancing With The Stars.
It was the turn of the girls on the hit Irish show and a fusion of line dancing and the quick step saw 29-year-old Co Tyrone beauty Cliona Hagan impressing the judges and bagging straight sevens.
The 21 points for the cool, contemporary country quickstep put her ahead of the rest of the girls, although former Love/Hate and Fair City actor Johnny Ward is a point ahead of her after the boys performed last week.
A strained tendon in her foot — or her Polish partner Robert Rowinski’s (33) trouble understanding her accent — didn’t perturb the country singer, who revealed she had helped choreograph the country elements into her dance.
Cliona is the first contestant from this side of the border to enter the competition.
