Parents’ care campaign a heartwarming NHS story
At a time when the NHS brings so many depressing and worrying headlines, it is uplifting to read the inspiring story of little Daniel Wilson. He was born 10 weeks prematurely, and he spent the first five of these in the neonatal unit at Craigavon Area Hospital.
However, Daniel’s parents Mark and Gail Wilson were so impressed by the treatment and care Daniel received at the hospital, the couple decided they would give something back.
So they have generously launched a care campaign for new mothers who will be in hospital over Christmas.
The NHS has always been more than the sum of its frequently malfunctioning parts, and in a week that threatens further chaos in our hospitals, baby Daniel’s story provides us with a shaft of much-needed light, however fleeting it might be.
