Who am I?

A novelist and poet, I was born in Sri Lanka in 1943. I became a Canadian citizen in the 1960s, and settled in Toronto. I am married to fellow novelist Linda Spalding. My works include Anil’s Ghost, In the Skin of a Lion and the Booker Prize-winning novel The English Patient.
