Holly and Phil: backstage tension?, plus lots more celeb gossip

Speculation pair are being tested after years of hosting together

-

They’ve presented together for over a decade, but is Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s friendship on the rocks? They have been on different paths in recent years as Holly, 40, branches out more on her own, and her ventures prove she’s happy working without him. She’s got a new memoir, Reflections, out in October, and she’s also teaming up with Lee Mack on brand-new BBC show, Wim Hof’s Superstar Survival. This is her second stint on the BBC, rival channel to ITV – which will see celebs take on death-defying challenges in some of Europe’s harshest conditions. Holly’s excited for the role, as she said, “I can’t wait to team up with Lee and Wim on this show. Lee’s a favourite in our house because he’s so hilariously funny.” Her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin is the brains behind the series – and it’s not the first time he’s worked on a show that’s taken her away from Phil, as Take Off With Bradley And Holly has been a success on the BBC. One fan wrote, “Schofield won’t be happy.”

In addition, it seems Holly and Phil, 59, haven’t taken their normal summer holiday together to Portugal this year. Could there be tension between them due to her fallout with her former management company, who Phil is still signed to – and who one of his daughters works for? Holly is in a legal battle with YMU after they allegedly tried to claim 15 per cent of her future earnings, despite her launching her own agency, Roxy Management. It was suggested as the reason why Holly didn’t attend friend Ant Mcpartlin’s wedding in August, while Phil did, as YMU execs were also there. There was also speculation that Phil might be upset to have been dropped from the Best Presenter category at the NTAS, while Holly and Alison Hammond have been nominated. With them back on This Morning this week, let’s hope any rumours are just a small blip in their friendship.
