Denise won’t take ‘cheating’ fiancé back

Denise van Outen’s ex-fiancé Eddie Boxshall is said to be “desperate” to win her back, after she confirmed their split following allegations that he had cheated. Eddie, 47, is hoping to save their seven-year relationship, with a source saying he “isn’t willing to throw away all of their memories together. He’s pulling out all the stops to save their relationship”. The insider added, “He feels terrible and pained that she’s hurting. He is desperate to gain her forgiveness and knows there are a lot of deep-rooted feelings involved. He’s not willing to accept it’s over for good.”

Denise, 47, called time on their relationship after he reportedly had phone sex and met up with other women. Another source said, “It’s the very last thing she expected to happen. She thought this was forever – but while she has been out at work, he’s been sat in her home betraying her trust.” She announced the news on social media, saying, “It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship. I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made. We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children.”

Denise has Betsy, 11, with her ex, actor and singer Lee Mead, and Eddie is a dad to Jordan, 25, and Leah, 22, from a previous relationship. While Eddie – who appeared with Denise on Celebrity Gogglebox – is said to know he has been “foolish”, it’s believed he’s not giving up hope they may get back together. Denise, however, is said to have “made up her mind” and is “determined to move on and very unlikely” to take him back.
