10 years of GMB! Celeb news & gossip A special Spice Girls reunion, plus lots more celeb gossip

The group gave an impromptu performance, 12 years after they last sang together

This week sees the tenth anniversary of ITV’S awardwinning flagship breakfast show Good Morning Britain. Since 28 April 2014, GMB has been brightening up our mornings, serving up lively debates, entertaining news and drama – and all before 9.30am! Whether it’s ex-presenter Piers Morgan storming off set, beaming live into our homes during the COVID-19 lockdowns or Ed

Balls accidentally kicking co-host Susanna Reid in the head, there’s not been a dull moment.

Susanna reminisced, “I remember Ben Shephard, just as the opening credits were rolling, whispered, ‘You’ll never get a second chance to enjoy this moment because this is the only moment we’ll ever launch this programme to the nation. So enjoy every second of it. That’s such a memorable moment for me.” For presenter Richard Madeley, who also hosts alongside Charlotte Hawkins, Adil Ray, Ranvir Singh, Kate Garraway and co, his highlight is cutting off then defence secretary Gavin Williamson after he repeatedly dodged a question in 2018.

“Politicians all do it but this was a particularly outrageous example. I suddenly heard myself say, ‘OK, interview terminated because you won’t answer the question.’ I’m not sure who was more shocked, him or me!” he said.

Here’s to the next ten years!

It was the rare reunion that fans had been waiting for as the Spice Girls got back together for Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday last week. The fashion designer dubbed it the “best gift” as she was joined by her bandmates Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Horner to perform an impromptu rendition of Stop, along with the accompanying dance routine, at her party – captured by proud husband David.

“The best gift to be reunited! Thank you to all my friends and family for celebrating with me! Kisses,” Victoria wrote. “Best night ever! Happy birthday to me. I love you all so much! #Spiceupyourlife.”

Their performance came 12 years after they last sang together at the 2012 London Olympics. Victoria’s family and celebrity pals came out to celebrate her milestone age for the star-studded bash at Oswald’s private members’ club in London on 19 April, which saw the birthday girl leaving with a piggyback from David in the early hours. Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria, Gordon and Tana Ramsay and Salma Hayek attended the glitzy occasion.

David, 48, gave an emotional speech about Victoria, before their children – Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 12 – paid tribute to their mum. Cruz even sang the Spice Girls’ hit Mama.

However, it wasn’t all party poppers – there was apparently a bit of a tiff between Geri and Mel B, 48, who avoided each other for most of the evening after Mel publicly joked about not knowing 51-year-old Geri’s real age. “Mel tried to smooth things over with Geri at the party but it didn’t go as planned. When it came to taking their group picture, Geri kept as far away from Mel as possible, which was awkward to watch,” an insider said.
