For a while now, in­te­ri­ors have fea­tured sharp edges and sleek lines, some­thing made more pop­u­lar by the mid-cen­tury trend. This theme hasn’t com­pletely dis­ap­peared from our radar, but now the urge for soft­en­ing our liv­ing spa­ces is meld­ing beau­ti­fully with the min­i­mal­ist, some­times stark, mid­cen­tury aes­thetic. This sea­son marks the re­turn of softer, more rounded shapes: curvy so­fas and arm­chairs and round ta­bles. Rich vel­vets and lush bur­nished met­als de­liver a sense of cur­va­ceous cosi­ness, while con­tain­ment is still key to main­tain­ing the right bal­ance.
