How does a kitchen appliance that weighs, chops, blends, mixes, grinds, grates, steams, whisks and kneads for you sound? We think it sounds amazing, and if you needed any convincing, Heston Blumenthal has 15 in his kitchen at The Fat Duck, so it must be good.

Thermomix is the revolutionary design of Vorwerk, and not surprisingly, it’s taking the culinary world by storm. Not only does it combine 12 appliances in one, but an in-built digital system also enables users to follow over 20,000 specially designed recipes step by step, whilst also helping you to plan meals and shopping lists for the week ahead.

They are all sold direct by area representatives and, luckily for us, there is a team in Reading led by Millie Poulter. “I’ve been blown away by the health benefits of the Thermomix. I can make all the meals for my family completely from scratch, and I know exactly what’s going into them,” she says.

A particularly popular recipe with Millie’s family is the carrot cake. “You just put chunks of carrot and all the other cake batter ingredients in, and then in 40 seconds it has grated the carrot and whipped up the cake batter,” she explains. “It’s amazing.”
