Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley star in this darkly comic drama about three Californian mums all harbouring dark secrets. In the posh seaside town of Monterey, a primary school becomes the unlikely scene of a shocking murder. Over seven episodes, the drama flashes back to the lead-up to the killing – revealing a web of tangled relationships, jealousy and spite. With a great cast, including Laura Dern and easy-on-the-eye Alexander Skarsgård (as Nicole Kidman’s husband), it’s a fantastic adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s best-selling novel. With a plot that keeps you guessing, this glossy but gripping series is worth staying in for.
