Philip Glenister and Lesley Sharp star in this new comedy drama from the team behind Cold Feet. They play Mal and Jen Pemberton, who uproot their two teenage kids from their Yorkshire home and head to sunny Florida to start a new life. But the business they have bought – a caravan park – looks nothing like the pictures, and is full of eccentric residents, one of whom sets a pair of alligators on Mal as a welcome gift. Meanwhile, Jen is struggling to get on with the local housewives, while teenagers Tina (Rosie Day) and Freddie (Brenock O’Connor) find being the new kids at high school anything but a picnic.
2 The Frankenstein Chronicles WED, ITV ENCORE, 10PM NEW SERIES
Sean Bean returns as war veteran John Marlott, the star of the drama set in the steamy streets of Georgian London – inspired by Mary Shelley’s novel. Exploring the dingy world of crooks and bodysnatchers, it’s an entertaining walk on the dark side.
3 Strike Back TUESDAY, SKY ONE AND NOW TV, 9PM NEW SERIES
Warren Brown returns for season six of the actionpacked spy drama. Section 20 is a secret team of special operatives travelling the globe troubleshooting. This series sees Katherine Kelly play a female Jihadi.
4 The Secrets In My Family
MONDAY, W, 9PM NEW SERIES
Alex Jones plays host for this new genealogy series, which uses ground-breaking technology to help people uncover their ancestral histories. Alex says, ‘On every episode, I was on the floor. I was probably the worst person to present this! But I defy anyone not to [cry].’
5 The Great British Bake Off – The Final TUESDAY, CHANNEL 4, 8PM
No one really knew what to expect when the baking show moved to its new home on Channel 4. But the latest series, presented by Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding, has proved to be a mostly winning recipe. Tune in to find out who walks away with the trophy.
