Carol Vorderman: ‘Life’s never, ever dull!’
Carol Vorderman delights in revealing her ‘groupie’ wild side…
She might have looked the personification of class when she hosted the Pride Of Britain Awards, but that doesn’t mean Carol Vorderman doesn’t enjoy letting her hair down when she can!
The former Countdown maths master, 56, isn’t as sensible as she appears, and Carol has admitted she has a wild side she doesn’t often let the public see.
‘I go out a lot – I’m a party animal, let’s not lie about this!’ she said. ‘The party side of me isn’t a side that, generally, I allow to be seen.’
The TV presenter admitted that, during one particularly crazy incident after a Rag’n’Bone Man concert, she wound up on a stranger’s bed!
She explained, ‘I went to see Rag’n’Bone Man in concert recently and ended up on someone’s bed in the tour bus. Nothing rude happened – it was just funny! I’m like a grenade you pull the pin on. Life is never, ever dull.’
Rag’n’Bone Man, real name Rory Graham, from East Sussex, won two Brit Awards – the Critics’ Choice award and the award for British Breakthrough Act – following the success of his single, Human, last year. The ex-Loose Woman is thought to have watched him perform at his Bristol gig in April.
Carol has hosted the Pride Of Britain Awards, which are shown on ITV, since they began in 1999. Dressed in a figurehugging red gown for the red carpet before changing into a silverskirted dress, Carol entertained guests including Prince William and Prime Minister Theresa May, as well as a host of celebrities.
While revelations of her antics may come as shock to fans of the mother-of-two, it seems this side of Carol’s personality is legendary to those who know her well.
Speaking about her ex-colleague and former Countdown host, she added, ‘Richard Whiteley used to say to me, “Vorders, you could make trouble in an empty room.” He wasn’t wrong. People have an image in their heads of who I am, and it’s really quite wrong.’
Earlier this year, the twicedivorced star began dating ‘completely laid-back’ builder Cas Neill, 49, a gym-honed, tattooed divorcé. Could Carol be settling down at last?
