Skins­mooth­ing scrub


A good foun­da­tion will only go so far. If your skin is dull and lack­lus­tre, slick­ing make-up on top can add to the prob­lem in the long run. In sea­son now, figs con­tain a va­ri­ety of vi­ta­mins and min­er­als – in­clud­ing vi­ta­min C and mag­ne­sium – to help even out skin tone and hy­drate it for a plumper, brighter com­plex­ion.

This recipe is great for del­i­cate skin as we ap­proach the win­ter months – if you have a very dry com­plex­ion, just add more honey to the recipe. Take two figs, scoop out the flesh and blend to a purée. Add 1tbsp brown sugar and 2tsp clear honey, mix well and smooth on to your face. Leave on for up to 10 min­utes be­fore wash­ing off with a damp flan­nel.
