Life never ceases to amaze! I’d never have imagined this, even in a country that welcomed me from the beginning. Yet what really counts is the affection of an audience – the handshakes, smiles, applause. And having my little, great Matteo by my side – what an indescribable experience.

It’s just a very honest song about our relationship – the relationship between all fathers and sons. We only discovered Matteo had this beautiful voice a couple of years ago, so this collaboration has been a wonderful surprise. It’s very emotional – family means everything to me. This album is about family, faith and love.

You collaborate with Dua Lipa on Si, among others. Which past collaborations stand out?

So many... Luciano [Pavarotti], also a dear friend. And Celine Dion. Both special people you don’t meet often. But, when you do, you never forget them.
