I don’t want to be boring!

Dry January is here and I’m having a go, but I feel I’m missing out! I know that makes me sound rather childish but, for someone who’s a bit of a party animal, this is quite a big deal for me. How do I go out with my friends (who will definitely be drinking) without feeling like a right old party pooper?

Dry January is a very acceptable thing to do these days, Helen, and I don’t feel you should expect any hassle from your drinking mates. If they do give you flak about ditching the booze, they’re pretty immature friends! Anyway, what with all the pre-Christmas parties and the festive season in general, I think it’s good to softpedal and have a Dry January, for your health’s sake if nothing else.
