What’s new with feisty Jocelyn in Jamestown?

Oh, lots! We meet her with all these plans that then get completely destroyed by Governor Yeardley (Jason Flemyng). Something bad happens, which makes Jocelyn realise she wants to defeat Yeardley and rule the rest of the world for herself, which I could totally get on board with!

How was this final series to shoot?

Amazing. Emotional. The landscape is nuts in Hungary [where the series is filmed]. Go 20 miles down the road and it’s a completely different landscape. You can be in a wood, and then the ground starts turning redder and redder until you’re in what looks like a desert.

What’s it been like, playing such a kick-ass character?

Jocelyn is so intelligent, she never writes anything off – something I’ve taken on board. Always figure things out fully, as it could prove helpful! She does bad things – she’s human – but it’s because, ultimately, she wants a good world and life for everyone. She’s a cool girl. I like her a lot.

Have you nabbed anything from the set as a memento?

No, though I feel there needs to

be a V&A exhibition of Jocelyn’s amazing costumes! There were also loads of massive candles on set – in a shop, they’d be so expensive. Ben [Naomi’s rumoured boyfriend] just walked away with one once. And it burned for a good two years!

What’s next for you?

A film – an adaptation of The

Postcard Killers [by Swedish thriller writer Liza Marklund and American best-seller James Patterson]. I’m learning Russian for it. We’re filming in London, then in Norway and Sweden, which is exciting! Jamestown returns to Sky One on 26 April at 9pm.
