1 Fosse/Verdon FRIDAY, BBC TWO, 9PM

NEW SERIES All the glitz and glamour of the golden age of Broadway is portrayed in this drama based on the real-life love story of choreograp­her Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon, one of the greatest Broadway dancers of all time. The story begins in 1966, as the couple, then married, launched the film version of Sweet Charity, the musical in which Gwen had made her name on the stage. They then decide on their next project – Cabaret, starring Liza Minnelli. With Sam Rockwell as Bob and Michelle Williams as Gwen, this is a fascinatin­g recreation of one of the most influentia­l romantic and creative partnershi­ps of all time.

2 Counting Tigers – A Survival Special TUESDAY, ITV, 9PM

Joanna Lumley purrs her way through the voiceover for this one-off special exploring efforts to save endangered wild tigers. Poachers kill two of these magnificen­t creatures every week, but in the documentar­y that explores India’s tiger count, we meet two orphaned cubs – Bhandhav and Bhandavi – who were adopted by a warden and are now being hand-reared to adulthood.

4 Manifest TUESDAY, SKY ONE, 9PM

NEW SERIES Spooky supernatur­al drama following a group of passengers who get on a flight from Jamaica to New York, only to find that when they land, five years have passed and they’ve been presumed dead. Back in the land of the living, they have to piece together their old lives. Starring Melissa Roxburgh and Josh Dallas.

3 Hold The Sunset FRIDAY, BBC ONE, 9PM

NEW SERIES Alison Steadman and John Cleese return as widowed neighbours Edith and Phil, who are attempting to sail off for a sunshine retirement together in Gozo, if only they can sell their houses and sort out their troublesom­e offspring. Also starring Anne Reid as Edith’s cleaner Queenie.

5 Eat Shop Save THURSDAY, ITV, 8.30PM

NEW SERIES Some more families are set a challenge by Ranvir Singh and her team of experts, who are determined to get them fitter and thriftier – all within eight weeks. The first volunteers are the Lahertys from Bury, who are challenged to turn their back on takeaways and chuck out the chocolate.
