Will 2020 be the year it all falls apart for troubled Katie Price?
We all reassess our goals and where we are going at New Year, so it might be the ideal time for Katie Price to take a step back from the limelight and focus on what she really wants from life.
The former glamour model and mum-of-five was declared bankrupt in London last month. It’s shocking, given how lucrative Katie’s brands have been over the years.
The 41-year-old, thought to be in debt of £800,000, squandered her reported £45m fortune on beauty procedures and expensive holidays. Katie has also lost her £2m pad – cruelly dubbed ‘Mucky Mansion’ as a result and is believed to have lost 2st due to stress.
Sadly, the hellish times don’t end there. The star’s mum, Amy Price – who regularly helps Katie take care of her disabled son, Harvey, 18 – revealed on ITV’s Loose Women last year that she ‘didn’t have much time left,’ after being diagnosed with progressive lung disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
IPF causes lung tissue scarring and shortness of breath and, while manageable, it is not curable.
The heartbreaking reality is that – while we all need hope – doctors had given Amy just five years to live. Clearly the situation is too much for Katie, she said, ‘My mum is going to die, I just don’t want her to…’
Since her diagnosis two years ago, Amy is still a very close, influential part of her daughter’s life. Yet, worsening breathing issues means she spends more time in
Spain, leaving Katie alone in England. Would she be falling apart if her beloved mum was no longer there as a soothing voice, to help pick her up the pieces? Only time will tell.
But, so far, entering her 40s hasn’t seemed to slow down the infamous party girl. Katie has been snapped several times in recent months looking worse-for-wear – being given a two-year drinkdriving ban and partying hard with her ex, Dane Bowers.
Three times married, Katie’s love life seems chaotic, too. Her onoff relationship with personal trainer fiancé, Kris, 29, is turbulent, and a Christmas trip to New York just seemed to involve spending money she knows she doesn’t have.
Katie moved in with Kris just before Christmas, after losing her 11-bedroom West Sussex home.
Last November, rumours surfaced that she was cheating on Kris with model, Charles Drury, also 29 – the latter later threatening to sue the star, after she ‘slammed’ him in her aptly-named reality show, My Crazy Life.
Last year was a car crash for Katie. Perhaps, with those financial pressures on top of everything else, she’ll have no option but to turn over a new leaf.
