Out with the old: Ant’s ex Lisa throws his stuff on the streets

Ant McPartlin’s ex, Lisa Armstrong, brought a whole new meaning to the word ‘takeaway’ with a rather public clear-out of her ex’s belongings…

-

In the clearest sign yet that she’s ready to move on from her ex, BGT presenter Ant McPartlin, Strictly makeup artist Lisa Armstrong chucked some of his possessions on to the street, for passers-by to look through and literally take away.

Items including an old dressing gown, some Newcastle United football shirts, a pile of board games and books belonging to the 44-year-old Saturday Night Takeaway host (who is thought to have sifted through what he wanted to keep) were placed in boxes outside the former marital home in West London, so people could pick through them free of charge.

Lisa, who is reported to have been given £31m as a divorce settlement, is now believed to be ready to move on herself.

Ant was granted a decree nisi last October after Lisa, 43, petitioned for divorce.

He moved on with the ex-couple’s former manager, Anne-Marie Corbett, 43 – but recently, it emerged that Lisa also has something to smile about, her relatively new romance with 38-year-old electrician James Green.

Among the books Lisa chucked were a few celebrity autobiographies, including Piers Morgan’s The Insider and Craig Revel Horwood’s Tales from the Dance Floor.

GMB host Piers, of course, upon hearing the news, couldn’t help but feign hurt onair, saying, ‘I don’t know why, it has really hurt me so much.’

Piers continued, ‘Lisa, out of common decency…’ – only for co-host Susanna Reid to finish: ‘…put it in the bin at least!’

And a clearly amused Lisa – who does his make-up on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, later sent the presenter a text, which he read out on-air.

Lisa told him:

‘Oh my God, I’m so sorry, wasn’t me, I’m not even there. I don’t think I’ve even seen that book, are you mad at me?’ Piers replied: ‘Yes! I’m not mad at you,

I just want my book back.’

One of the sadder items on offer was, reportedly, a dog bowl used by the pair’s muchloved Labrador, Hurley – they now share custody of the dog.

One of the funnier items was – apparently – an adult lie detector quiz, Saint or Sinner. According to a newspaper, one bargain hunter, Adam Hannan, took home the former couple’s wedding planner, complete with seating arrangements for their £150,000 nuptials in 2006.

Thankfully, however, Lisa seems to be in a great place after a terribly tough couple of years.

And she hasn’t forgot those who got her through the dark times – she named lipsticks in her new Avon make-up range after the ‘independent women’ that supported her through her painful split.

The only way is forward now, Lisa!
