Fern betrayed? The truth behind that message…

Is Fern Britton hinting that she feels let down, after sharing that post on social media?

-

Last week, presenter-turned-novelist Fern Britton retweeted a quote about relationships – one that clearly spoke to her.

The emotional passage the 63-year-old shared with her Twitter followers began, ‘In life, you will fall out with people that you never thought you would. Get betrayed by people you trusted with all of your heart. And get used by people you would do anything for. But life also has a beautiful side to it.’

The caption continued, ‘ You will get loved by someone you never thought you would have. Form new friendships with people that will establish more meaningful and stronger relationships. And overcome things you never thought you would get over. We all have chapters that end with people at some point in life. But take pride in knowing that the very best part of your book is still being written.’

The mum-of-four captioned her post ‘whoever wrote this KNOWS! Xx’, adding later – ‘This fits so perfectly xxx.’

Was she thinking about ex-husband Phil Vickery, when she read about feeling ‘betrayed’ and ‘used’? Only Fern knows – and only she and Phil know what happened behind closed doors…

She and TV chef Phil announced their separation at the start of this year. At the time, she said: ‘After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways… We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children…’

But just a few months ago, the star admitted: ‘I know I’ve hurt people, but people have hurt me too. We had a wonderful time. We were the best of friends. And I miss that friendship.’

Anyone that’s been through a break-up will understand Fern’s pain, especially when you’ve spent so many years together.

Well, here’s to getting used to this strange new world, Fern – and remember, as that cryptic post expressed: ‘Life also has a beautiful side…’

‘We had a wonderful time. We were the best of friends. And I miss that friendship’
