Dating No Filter!

-

Some of the UK’s top comedians will watch on as members of the public head out on blind dates across the country in brand-new comedy dating show, Dating No Filter. The series will see pairs of unwitting singletons sent off on first dates, intertwined with commentary from comedians such as Daisy May Cooper, Joel Dommett, Josh Widdicombe and Loose Woman Judi Love, who tells us more...

What made you want to get involved in this project?

I have an online dating show and I do a lot of reviews of TV shows, so for me it was a winwin situation. It was a perfect match. I’ve seen it in America as well and thought, yeah that’s a bit of me!

Tell us about Munya Chawawa, who you do commentary alongside…

He ties in jokes with his observations. His observations are brilliant. He brings you a comedy line with such a serious tone like you are involved in a really in-depth conversation and then he drops a line and you think, how did you combine jokes in such a serious, intellectual way?! He’s hilarious.

What are you hoping for with the dates and the singletons?

I’m hoping to see some real passion, romance and love. I was hoping we would see the difference between compatibility and those who are actually looking for a proper relationship. And of course, I wanted to see some epic fails, so that people realise that is not how you date!

What makes a good date?

If you take into consideration what the other person might like. Something that is not too touchy-feely, like you’re just being a bit of a perv, but something that allows you to engage with each other.

What do you think is going to

‘I’ m hoping to see some real passion and romance’

surprise people most?

I think they are going to be surprised at how shocking a lot of people are at dating!

How was your lockdown, and what’s next?

● Dating No Filter starts on Thursday, 10pm, Sky One and Now TV. Lockdown has been interesting. Obviously, we have home-schooling, which has been hard. We’ve been trying to get through it – the school has been great. Connecting with family has not been great because you can’t see anybody. I think this third one has been a little more challenging and I think there are more worries for people, just keeping people connected.
