My Sixties childhood
Like a lot of us, Loose Women’s Jane Moore grew up in a working-class family. But posting a memory recently had fans talking…
Journalist and Loose Woman Jane Moore sparked quite the reaction when she revealed details of her upbringing recently.
The usually private Jane showed off an unusual feature at her holiday accommodation – taking the opportunity to point out that it was reminiscent of her childhood home.
Taking to Instagram, the 59-year-old posted a photo of herself sitting on a rusticlooking balcony wearing jeans, a white sleeveless top and trainers –a metal bath was positioned behind her and the image was captioned: ‘ When I was a young kid, we didn’t have a bathroom. We had an outside loo and a tin bath we’d bring in from the shed on “bath night”…’
She went on with more than a touch of irony, ‘Luckily, I was an only child so didn’t have to share the water with siblings! Now, here I am on a weekend away where an outdoor tin tub is a chic feature. Who knew?’
Many of the star’s fans commented below her post, admitting they, too, related to her comments.
One wrote, ‘My experience exactly, although had siblings!’ Another confessed, ‘Jane, when I was growing up we had the same, tin bath brought in, in front of the fire,’ and a third revealed, ‘I shower now as shared the bath with my sisters, very rarely use the bath unless feeling yuck xx.’
‘Does anyone else just love Jane for her no-nonsense down-to-earth attitude?’ tweeted another.
Yes – at best Towers, we definitely do! And hearing about some people’s childhood experiences, doesn’t it make you feel grateful for what we have now?
