TOWIE reeled us in with Essex queens and fake tan with its first series in 2010 – but just one year later, Made inChelsea’s first episode went out – and we fell in love with a whole other kind of reality star, from the well-to-do Chelsea set!
Yes, if you’re anything like us, there’s a good chance that after a long day, you look forward to winding down with a glass of vino and an episode of Made in Chelsea. Sadly, the latest, 24th series finished late last year – but it won’t be long till it’s back!
Why is it, though, that we’re so hooked on being flies-on-the-wall to Sloane Square’s youthful bunch of ‘trustafarians’? The inherent nosiness of human beings aside, there are a few reasons.
We’ve witnessed iconic characters come and go… Remember Millie Mackintosh slapping cheating Spencer Matthews, and who could forget everyone’s love for her best friend – girl-next-door Caggie Dunlop – and our heartbreak that she didn’t return after series three?!
From dramatic dinner parties, meltdowns at the Bluebird and Jamie Laing confessing to most girls that he’s ‘fallen for them’– we’ve seen it all!
While the cast changes, the drama and decadent London backdrops remain, and there are always larger-than-life personalities – impeccably dressed and made-up – to keep us hooked.
One of them is Maeva D’Ascanio, who entered the show as Johnny Depp-lookalike Miles Nazaire’s mysteriously sexy ex. Love her or hate her, Maeva is made for reality
TV. With witty one-liners in that sexy French accent, she’s becoming quite the star.
But she’s not the only big character. Liv Bentley, loved by everyone, has had her fair share of ups and downs – mostly featuring on-again/off-again beau Tristan Phipps (who, quite frankly, must have been carved by angels).
