The new XL model uses a similar, if updated, shape to the original bike mirror, using a curved drop-down bar made specifical­ly for racing bikes. For racing bikers, their heads are often down, keeping streamline­d in order to reach the greatest speeds possible. As such, this bike mirror is designed with this in mind, curving down so that racers are able to keep an eye behind themselves while also reaching immense speeds.

The XL model gets its name, primarily, for its enlarged mirror size, being an extra 5cm² in diameter to its predecesso­r. This additional surface area allows cyclists to see even more of the roads behind them than before, providing optimal safety, especially in the winter months.

Any cyclist will tell you the additional perils of cycling in the winter; slippery pathways, vision obscuring weather, and hazardous ice patches, to name just a few. It is important these issues are accounted for, both for your own and others safety, meaning avoiding ice patches and slippery terrain while keeping an eye out for other cyclists in your path. It would be ideal, perhaps, to have eyes both at the front and back of your head, but Sprintech bike mirrors are certainly the next best thing.

It is not only the size of the mirror that has been improved upon to optimise safety, however, as the new Sprintech® Racing XL also utilises safety glass in its mirror design, as opposed to the previously used ABS, convex, and chrome coating. This safety glass means there will be far less risk of corrosion of the mirrors; an essential feature for cyclists tackling salty seaside breezes or Christmas snow, while still remaining as clear and sturdy as the past models.

Despite the additional size and safety glass increasing the weight of the mirror, this new model is still extremely light, weighing in at just 0,33 grams. This means the mirror will have no impact on the balance or weight of the handlebars, which for fast moving racing cyclers is essential for optimal performanc­e.

The new XL model has also been optimised by being attachable to either side of the handlebars. While the original model was designed as a pair, with a separately designed left and right mirror, this new model can be attached either side, making it exceptiona­lly versatile for all environmen­ts and needs. As such, this mirror is only available as a single unit.

Simply change the mirror from one side to the other as needed, using the easy following three steps:

Remove the original cap. Insert the Sprintech® cap without removing the tape. Insert the mirror and adjust it

The Sprintech® Racing XL is currently only available in black, but with its sleek design and incredible safety features, this mirror is not one to miss out on.
