The Modern Motorcycle
1927 Ariel Model B, £9995 Ariel used the advertising slogan ‘The modern motorcycle’
around the time this 557cc side-valve was
made in 1927. It seems funny now, but the new ‘Black’ Ariels actually had brakes that worked and a saddletank (as opposed to a ‘flat tank’ that fitted below the frame’s top tube). Top speed 55mph. I’ve got one and they’re funny and half usable (slowly). cosmoclassic.co.uk
