Glemseck 101, Leonberg, Germany This German show, on the old Solitude Circuit, has been running for over a decade and is at risk of becoming a victim of its own success. Reports from last year say it’s packed to overflowing. Still, it’s worth a visit as part of a European road trip. The motor museums of Stuttgart are nearby. glemseck101.de

European Bike Week, Faaker See, Austria Don’t believe a word of it, this isn’t for European bikes at all, it’s a mammoth meeting of Harleys and HOGS that has become so huge that the weight of the metal and leather that crowds into this corner of Austria has been proven to tilt the earth 0.3 of a degree off its axis. europeanbikeweek.com

Brooklyn Invitational, New York, USA This custom show is the brainchild of a cabal of influential New Yorkers, including acclaimed artist John Copeland and bike builder Keino. It attracts the cream of US customs to a city that doesn’t have a huge history of motorcycle happenings. The crowd is heavily inked and heavy drinking.
