The go anywhere choice 2011 Yamaha XT660Z £3995
Surely there’s room for one more bike in the garage, my buying dreams flit between adventure bikes, trial bikes and classics
I’ve had a soft spot for the XT660Z since I first rode one a decade ago. A poor man’s adventure bike? No. In this cramped land we live in it is more than capable of reaching all four corners. Adventure lite maybe but the XTZ is a genuinely good trail bike, is easier to live with than a GS and far more capable than other mid-weight dual-sport bikes. Prices for good ones range from £3500-£4500. The more accessories the higher the price, but this basic bike has potential and 3500 catches my eye.
