ONBOARD THE Z900RS CAFÉ

- Price:

Waft a foot over the Café’s ducktail, settle into the clever humped pillion seat, reach for the bars, and… relax. There’s no crouched-up uncomfortable riding position that characterises other manufacturers’ special edition Cafés. The grips are located a few inches further forward and a couple of centimetres lower than on the RS, and the new ergonomics pitch your upper body towards the sizeable headlight cowl. It’s a road-focused position, without doubt. Cast your eyes over the Vintage Lime Green paint with swooping ’70s speed stripe (no other colour available) and notice a mass of Z1-inspired touches. Crank covers sport the letters ‘DOHC’, while cam covers lose their half moon highlight. Look past the seat, handlebar and headlight cowl to a bike that’s mechanically identical to the RS: assist/slipper clutch and twin rider modes included. £10,489 otr
