Make the most of the TT: Get an Ordnance Survey map, a programme and a radio. You need to find your way around and you need to know what’s going on. Though even with a radio and a programme you still won’t really know what’s happening. Practice times change, race times change, road closure times change. Where to eat: Eat kipper baps at Moore’s Kipper Yard, Peel, down by the harbour (follow the signs to the castle). The Creek Inn (also in Peel) does good pub food. At some viewing points (like the churchyard at Braddan Bridge) the local ladies provide lunch (proceeds to charity). The fish and chip shop in the market place in Ramsey is really good. And the Port Jack chippy, looking out across Douglas harbour from Onchan, has an amazing view. Just do it: It’s daunting, and expensive. But you need to do it.
