FOUR OR FIVE SPEED
The Ep80/90-oiled five-speed gearbox was introduced with the Sixty5 model Bullet in 2003 and was a big improvement over the earlier four-speed Albion box. The four-speed gives a slow change thanks to a long lever, whereas the five gives much more of a Japanese feel. It was developed in collaboration with Cranfield University in the UK. The four-speed does feature a neutral finder, though. Pull the clutch, press down with your heel on a lever and you’ll be returned to neutral from any gear.
