Not just four hours of nostalgia but a pretty competitive event. The Le Mans 4H was won by Henk van der Mark and Dirk Brand on a Suzuki. Names ring a bell? They’re the Dutchmen who beat Team Bike for the win at Le Mans in ’84. A Guzzi was second and a Godiergenoud Kawasaki third. You need to go to this one while Valentino Rossi is still riding. But there are things to bear in mind: it’s a terrible place to get in and out of, there are no hotels for miles, and very few grandstand seats or other facilities are available. But it is unmatched for atmosphere and is by a distance the most beautiful race track in the world. If you can’t get there this time, start making plans for 2019 or even 2020. motogp.com
