The top four after the first two rounds still consisted, as ever, of the factory Kawasaki and Ducatis, suggesting not much change. The one notable difference was the presence of a Honda deep in the top ten in all four races. This had precisely nothing to do with the tweaks to the technical rules and everything to do with the rider, Leon Camier. It’s difficult not to conclude that Leon has never fully realised his potential on the world stage since his dominant 2009 BSB win caused the organisers to invent the Showdown. But we shouldn’t blame Leon for that.
