We deserve better

In recent issues I’ve read about expanding plastic tanks, backside scorching exhausts and mirrors that don’t work (still?). We also live with fasteners that go furry as soon as the clocks go back, exhaust collectors that turn brown as soon as the leaves do and suspension that doesn’t as soon as the warranty expires. We consumers really ought to be demanding better. If a bike burns your backside when you ride it, it isn’t fit for purpose. If the exhaust rusts to pieces after a couple of winters it’s not good enough. If the mirrors don’t work they are unacceptable. Need I go on? Jon Barnden, email
