Best foot forward

I owned a Dyna Fatbob 1690 for five years, which you described as an ‘impractical, obstinate bugger’. Mine wasn’t. Great bike in every respect. Of the 35 bikes I’ve owned, it’s in the top five. But I paid £1500 to have it converted to mid-mount pegs, which transforms it (with highway pegs for the lazier moments). Forward pegs trash any bike. At the time, the H-D dealer told me that in the States they were usually sold with mid-mount, typical of most Dynas. But because the British think that a Harley isn’t a Harley without forward pegs, all the ones brought into the UK had them. We’re so fly... Phil Tiernan, email
