Social media works
A round of applause for the newly re-named Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, or more specifically their Twitter feed @ circuitodejerez. Over the Grand Prix weekend they informed their followers of promotional events, traffic arrangements and shuttle bus routes. OK, it was all in Spanish but you don’t need a degree in modern languages to read a timetable. Whoever runs the social media at Valencia should also get a bit of appreciation. They mix a fair bit of English in with the Spanish and have even been known to reply to questions on @Circuitvalencia. But the prize for best use of social media by a race circuit goes to Twin Ring Motegi’s superb English language Twitter feed @ motegi_english. Hell, you should follow it even if you haven’t got plans to attend the Japanese GP this year. It is a brilliant bit of customer service giving useful advice about events, transport links and even food outlets during race weekend. Other circuits take note.
