Cable guy

Being of a certain age I remember riding old British bikes on the lanes around my village. I also remember the look of the Amal carbs and the fact they had a throttle cable attached to the top. Now call me pedantic but why did Triumph go to the trouble of replicating the Amal, on their new bikes, just to leave a gaping hole where the cable should be? Antony Knitter, email
