ALAN CLEWS

-

Austin Clews told us his dad was ill when we went to the factory. Next morning we heard that Alan had passed away that night. He was 79 years old and had spent 47 years developing CCM bikes. His vision for a four-stroke scrambler changed the soundscape at motocross tracks around the world in the 1970s as CCMS battled two-stroke opposition. He was involved in the development, and tuning of the bikes until very recently. CCM remains a family concern with Austin Clews, his brother Russell and brother in-law Gary Hathern, as well as Alan’s grandsons still involved. HW
