Roads to ride: Blakey Lane from Hutton-le-hole to Castleton is a proper Moorland adventure. Stop at Fimber Café on the B1248 just north of Wetwang then head for Pickering. Also ride the ‘Hole of Horcum’ on the A169. Places to stay: Hooks House Farm campsite (from £8/night). Food and drink: Book in advance to eat in the famous Magpie Café, or the Whistlestop Café does good coffee. Try the Fish Box opposite the Co-op. Events: Whitby Goth Weekend, April and October 2018.
