Top-price Klim jeans are straightle­g cut with Cordura-reinforced cotton-nylon fabric available in three different blues. Inner panels are Dupont Kevlar, there’s padded tailbone protection, and knee pockets are adjustable. Malleable D30 Evo Level 1 knee and hip armour included.

YKK zip-equipped denim jeans with inner Dupont aramid panels for abrasion resistance. The stitched-in panels cover seat, hips and knees. Level 1 knee armour included. Good extras at this price: adjustable knee pockets and space for hip armour. Big glovefrien­dly buttons on the front only.

Richa Ladies Skinny £125

Richa’s Skinnys slim enough are not to look like motorbike jeans and are available from sizes 6 to 26. There’s semistretc­h denim in blue or black and Level 1 D30 knee protectors. Less abrasion resistance than Draggin’s fullylined skinny Twista, but £75 cheaper. Richa’s male slim-fits are the £150 Bi-stretch.
